Jonathan Rabung, Kaede Kawano, Alisa Feuz, Sakura Kawano and Fiona Davies traveled to West Kelowna on March 3-4 for 2012 BC Midget Championship. It was an action packed, fun filled event consisted of 2km classic individual and team relay on Saturday, individual heat sprint on Sunday.
Congratulations to all the racers who showed great enthusiasm for Spud Valley Nordics!

Payak - Saturday, Feb 25th @ Whistler Olympic Park
There is another great event coming up for all our Pemberton Jackrabbits. It is the Kids Events at the annual Payak which takes place at WOP. Last year about 25 of our Jackrabbits took part and from all reports had a great time. There are two separate events - a ski tournament for children 5 to 9 years of age and at the same time - a ski cross event for children 10 to 13 years of age. There will be children from Vancouver, Squamish, Whistler and Pemberton in these events. There is a limit of 200 children for both events and last year that number was reached long before the registration deadline. So decide asap and let Delores know by this Saturday(11th)if your child would like to participate.
We also need volunteers for both kids event!! Please check out Payak's website and sign up as a volunteer.

2012 BC Midget Championship - March3-4, 2012 Kelowna
The objective of the Midget Championships is to bring young skiers together for a memorable and enjoyable weekend of competition and fun. This event follows a tournament format, where one school or
club team ends up the overall winner. Points towards the club aggregate trophy recognize the efforts of as
many participants as possible, including the achievements of both individuals and teams.
This event is suitable for beginner through to experienced skiers.
Highlights:
* one year age categories for 1999, 2000, 2001 and 2002
* age appropriate courses
* emphasis on participation
* banquet
* a hooded sweatshirt for each participant & tons of Fun!!!

The 23rd Annual Loppet was a great success!
with 124 skiers turning out from Pemberton, our neighbor Whistler and as far as Vancouver.
A huge THANK-YOU to all the volunteers for grooming, shoveling snow, timing, food making and running the kitchen ... prize donations and for collecting.
This event which so many people, both adults and kids, just love to do, is possible only because of you.

Sunday, February 12th - 1st Annual Lost Lake Classic (hosted by Whistler Nordics)
After finish our own loppet why don't you try another one in Whistler ?
Whistler Nordics are hosting the 1st Annual Lost Lake Classic. This is an individual start classic race
with racers having the option of a 7.5 or 15km course. Fun event for all ages. Race Notice here

Sunday, January 29th - Coast Cup #2 at WOP (hosted by Whistler Nordics)
Congratulation to the 17 Spud Valley Jackrabbits and Jr Racers who skied in the Coast Cup at Whistler Olympic Park. They did a great job even in the pouring rain. There were a number of podium finishes and many more were in the top five in their age group. Well Done! Check out our Photo Gallery to see how much fun they had. BC Cup at WOP
BC Cup #1 was held on Jan.14-15th at Whistler Olympic Park and our tireless Spud Valley racers took part of this event. Saturday was a mass start Skate event and Sunday was an individual classic start. Congratulations to Alex Feuz, Sakura Kawano, Fiona Davies, Alisa Feuz, Kaede Kawano, Jonathan Rabung for all the hard skiing! Complete result are posted on Zone4.
